Preserving the family legacy into the future
A family that we worked with for many years owned a wonderful home in the northeast where they enjoyed spending summers. They also owned a property in a southern climate where they could escape cold winters, and it came to have a special place in their hearts. They wanted to preserve their southern property for their heirs and create a legacy that would extend beyond their lives. The goal was to create a gathering place for future generations to share.
Over the course of three years, we devised a solution that met the diverse needs of each generation. We prepared an operating agreement to enable future generations to manage the property, schedule visits, and address the inevitable changes that would happen over time. We also helped create an endowment to ensure there would be funds to maintain the property and its use in perpetuity.
